The Simien Mountains Buffer Zone

During its war against Eritrea, the Ethiopian army was armed, trained, and led by American generals under Haile Selassie and Cuban and Russian generals during the Dergue regime. U.S. aid and Chinese loans supported Ethiopias military efforts against Eritrea during the TPLF era. It will continue to serve as a military base for regional and global imperialists, potentially undermining Eritreas sovereignty. We must designate Ethiopias northern mountains as a security buffer zone, a natural deterrent against military threats. To ensure a peaceful border, we will offer Ethiopia access to our ports in local currencies, free movement, unrestricted employment, open trade, and special privileges for Ethiopian citizens in return for demilitarizing the Simien Mountains buffer zone.

The Nubian Desert Buffer Zone

Sudan, like Ethiopia, will continue to serve as a military base for regional and global powers and a haven for terrorist groups, threatening Eritreas sovereignty. We must designate the Nubian Desert as a security buffer zone under the limits of sovereignty rules and procedures. To ensure a stable border, we will offer Sudan free movement, unrestricted work opportunities, free trade, and special privileges for its citizens in return for demilitarizing the Nubian Desert buffer zone.

The Dankali Desert Buffer Zone

The Dankali Desert, spanning 136,956 square kilometers of arid terrain with extreme heat and active volcanoes, will serve as our security buffer zone. This inhospitable landscape will naturally prevent military threats or invasions on Eritreas southeastern border, defending our independence and sovereignty.

The Yemeni Mountains Buffer zone

Like Ethiopia and Sudan, Yemen will continue serving as a military base for regional and global powers, posing a threat to Eritreas independence and sovereignty. The 6th-century Persian invasion of Yemen and the collapse of the Himyar state halted our Axumite kingdoms trade with Arabia and Rome through the Red Sea, causing long-lasting poverty and devastation for our people. We must designate the Yemen Mountains as our security buffer zone to defend our independence and sovereignty. In return for the demilitarization of the Yemen Mountains security buffer zone, we will offer Yemen free movement, unrestricted work opportunities, free trade, and special privileges for Yemeni citizens.

Bab el-Mandeb

Many international powers have military bases in Djibouti, including France, the U.S., Japan, Italy, China, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia. Russia and India are also interested in having bases. This presence undermines Eritreas independence and sovereignty. We must defend our security and economic interests in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden.
